Average pub in a brilliant location. We stopped off for a quick drink when we were on the road. The waitress was polite and service was quick. The beer was good and the place was calm. Toilets were clean and general atmosphere was nice.
Arrived to find table sticky and unclean. Steak should have been medium but was welldone. Chips were nearly cold. Diet coke was not that cold. Wife's salad was missing dressing. And chef took the liberty of drowning my steak in BBQ sauce instead of serving it in a side bowl. Price wise not that cheap really. Parking is good. Staff dull but functional.
Generally great food, been here many times. However me and my partner have had to send food back on a few of those recent occasions. I understand busy times but for fish to come out over cooked and cold is not acceptable. My partner has also had to send back bugers/steaks. We loved the sloop for a long time but are a little wary now.
Came here on our way back from a holiday. Fabulous value for money. We had the over 60's special deal. Really nicely cooked gammon steaks with eggs, chips and all the trimmings. Followed by tasty deserts. Very friendly and attentive staff. I can thoroughly recommend this place.
Excellent food, fresh, hot and well presented , good well mannered staff, nice open surroundings, clean and tidy location. Out door play area. Small kids arcade machine area.All round very pleasant and an extremely enjoyable meal... well recommended.
